Best Budget PC Build for Video Editing under ₹50,000 – September 2022

It might have not been the best time to build a Video Editing or Rendering PC in 2021 as the prices of Graphics Cards and other components were soaring high but don’t worry things have certainly calmed down in 2022. Graphics Card and CPU’s prices has slightly deflated.  It still might not be the perfect but a good time to build your Video Editing PC under ₹50000 in 2022.

Note: This PC Build is not just ideal for Video Editors but also a great buy for Graphics Designers and Working Professionals

Overview:

For those who are wondering about Graphics Card in this build, let me tell you, we are not going to use any Discrete or External Graphics Card in this build. As software like Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, HitFilm Ultimate rely more on CPU cores and clock speed than on GPU, we are going to be using a Powerful APU with decent Inbuilt Graphics in this build.

Components:

Processor / CPU

In this build I have chosen AMD because of its Ryzen 5 5600G APU. The 5600G is a 6 Cores 12 Threads beast with 19 MB Cache 3.9 GHz and Boosts Upto 4.4 GHz. It’s an AM4 socket CPU and is powerful enough to handle 4K Video Editing like a pro.

Two reasons for choosing this CPU/APU is:

  • It’s price and availability in the market. It’s common that products that are available in the market in large quantity have better pricing than products that are in scarcely available. Check Pricing:
  • Presence of a Powerful Inbuilt Vega 8 Graphics

Graphics:

As we are using AMD Ryzen 5600G APU, we already getting an entry level integrated graphics without our processor. 7nm Radeon RX Vega integrated graphics come with 512 Cuda Cores, 2000MHz Boost Clock, DirectX 12_1 support.

Motherboard

For motherboard I have picked an MSI A520M A Pro. It’s a entry level AMD AM4 Socket motherboard that has support for both AMD Ryzen 3000 and 5000 Series Desktop Processors out of the box. Overall the MSI A520 is pretty decent board with 6 USB 3.2 Ports (2 Front + 4 Rear), 6 USB 2.0 Ports (4 Front + 2 Type A Rear). The motherboard has two ram slots and can support upto 64GB of Memory.

MSI A520M A-Pro comes at a price of around ₹ 4900 and can be purchased from here.

RAM

As AMD is known to utilize higher frequency ram and give better performance on DUAL Channel, we are going to be using two sticks Adata XPG D30 8GB 3200MHz i.e a total of 16GB (8 + 8) of DDR4 Memory. This much of memory should be more than enough for meeting any demanding applications and to run simultaneous applications without any hiccups.

Adata D30 8GB 3200MHz RAM comes at a price of ₹ 2900, so you will be spending ₹ 5800 for two sticks. It’s really optional to buy Adata. You can even look for any other brands like HyperX, Corsair or TeamGroup as long as you don’t overspend on it.

Storage

i. Hard Drive

Unlike other budget Gaming PC builds I often keep the hard drive part as optional but in this scenario we will be needing a hard drive as Video Editing Projects and Raw Footage can take up a lot of space. I would recommend a Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive which should come at the price of around ₹ 3000.

ii. Solid State Drive/ SSD

It’s really crucial to have an SSD if you’re building a Video Editing PC in 2021 so I would highly recommend you to go with a Kingston A2000 250GB M.2 NVMe SSD coming at a price of around ₹ 2600 to 3000 and featuring speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. This SSD would be enough for you to store your windows and some of your day to day Applications that you wish to use regularly.

Power Supply

While building a Budget PC we often overlook our Power Supplies and often settle with a cheaper quality PSU but please remember, the longevity of your PC components depend heavily on the Power Supply you choose. There are many options in the market while Cooler Master MWE450 V2 Bronze is my favourite in the list.

Cooler Master’s Power Supplies not only promises you reliability but also a sense of trust because of excellent after sales team in India. One can easily get in touch with their community representative on Facebook/ Whatsapp or E-mail in case of any query or complaints.

Cabinet

As its a professional PC, I am not going to consider much about aesthetics here but suggest some cabinets that can offer reliability and good airflow to keep the components from thermal throttling.

Here I have made a list of some good cabinets with decent airflow and quality that you can look for when building a PC in this budget. Personally, I would be going with MSI Forge 100M or Cooler Master K501L RGB

Conclusion

Congratulations now you have the perfect Video Editing and Rendering PC build that you can get at this budget. ₹50,000 is the great budget to get started with entry-level Video Editing and Rendering in 2021 and to build a system that’s fast enough to save time in 1080p and 1440p or 4K rendering.
